Though subject to change, we wanted to share the initial plans for our first trip to Nepal regarding this initiative.
We will arrive during the festival of Tihar in late October, and in those first few days in Kathmandu we will be working with ) SEWA Nepal (Socio Economic Welfare Action Nepal) on future partnership possibilities. From there we will be traveling to Nepalgunj in the Western Terai (border area with India) for research and meetings, and then up to Banke, to visit a Plan Nepal field site. Our next stop will be Dang, where we plan to study Plan Nepal's projects in that district.
From Dang, we hope to go further north. If anyone knows of an NGO doing education or conflict related work in the Rapti Zone, or Rolpa area, please let us know.
After returning to Kathmandu in the middle of November, we will be attending a conference on the role of NGO's in the Terai on the 14th and 15th, and then it is back to the States.
Thanks again for all of your support!
